Whidbey Island Photographer |Oliver’s Newborn Session

I am running completely behind in sharing my latest newborn session in the studio. The way it works out for photographers is that the last trimester of the year is by far the busiest one. But, tonight I decided to pause from editing and share this in-studio newborn session with you.

What stood up about this session is that Oliver’s parents were the first set of clients to make a request of a personalized theme. Granted, I always ask for color palette preferences, but in this instance it was a little bit more than just color preference. His parents are hard core Disney lovers, so they wanted to incorporate their favorite characters for his newborn session.

So we agreed to have a set up for dad’s favorite character (Yoda), Mom’s favorite (Winnie Pooh) and one that they both liked, Aladdin.

I absolutely enjoyed creating the sets to bring to life the vision for their baby’s session. Little Oliver looked so cute in every character he “interpreted” during his session.

We were able to sneak in some parent shots as well as bean bag poses. This baby came to the studio at around two weeks after being born, which is considered the prime “window of time” for newborn portraits. He totally rocked the entire session!

I am usually booked 4 or more weeks in advance. The best thing to do is to book your baby’s newborn session at the end of the second trimester. I book my clients around their due date and we adjust the actual date accordingly depending on when the baby actually arrives.

I have a limited amount of newborn clients that I take per month. This is to ensure that I allow enough time on my work schedule to hold the session and edit the portraits in a timely manner. If you don’t want to miss the prime window of time for your baby’s newborn session and you are already expecting, let’s chat and secure a date today!
